Some simple strengthening is the real fountain of youth. It takes a little effort, yet most of it is free. Even if you are a beginner, you can likely do push ups from knees, planks from knees, body weight squats, etc. Great points in your article.

Right. And I remember criticism of Asprey from other people in the fitness world saying "why doesn't Asprey talk about this?". He was marketing to very lazy people encouraging them to be more lazy. Sad.

I’m the girl who discovered Biohacking in the underground scene and put it on the map in Silicon Valley. I can agree with your assessment that it has been watered down and diverted from its original ethos.

Thanks for that Rachel. Did you know Asprey ? I'd like to hear about your contact with all this.

There is another pre-Asprey history to it I have read about briefly. This kind of transhumanist thing. I don't have a particularly positive view of it myself. But I'd love to hear your story on it.

By the time Asprey got his hands on it, biohacking to me seemed just an accessible marketing term for stuff people were doing anyway.

Yes, he always struck me as dull so I never went out of my way to interact with him. There was a push to marginalize visionary transhumanism and replace it with life extension. The visionary transhumanists won and have reincarnated as e/acc. They can’t stop us all. Just enjoy the show.

Wow thanks, very interesting. I just had to read what e/acc even was. Ok, count me as a doomer ;)

No, don’t be a doomer! The doomers want to slow down the acceleration of technology because they are PR hounds and paranoid control freaks. Asprey was in their little establishment clique. Embrace the e/acc growth for real Biohacking.

So right, from your point of view, Asprey even though he talked some of the language, he was a hollow sell out. He stole biohacking from its true roots to sell stupid stuff.

What do you see as the endpoint of real biohacking ?
